SUMMARY:Saturday\, October 10\, 2026\; The Holy Martyrs Eulampius and Eulam
 pia
DESCRIPTION:VESPERS ON FRIDAY EVENING\n\nKathisma Reading\n\nThe appointed
psalms are chanted.\n\nAt Psalm 140\n\nTone 4\, Podoben “As one valiant
among the martyrs...”\n\nIf You mark iniquities\, Lord\, who can stand?*
But with You forgiveness is that You may be revered.\n\nIllumined by the
Holy Spirit\, O all-praised martyrs\,* you arrayed yourselves against the
wiles of the prince of this world\;* and\, vanquishing him manfully\, you
prevailed over him with divine skill.* Therefore\, celebrating your splend
id memorial today\,* we honour your sufferings with praises as is meet\,*
O you of great renown.\n\nI have waited for You as You have commanded\; my
soul patiently relies on Your promise\,* for it has trusted in the Lord.\
n\nMingling the fire and torments\, O holy ones\, by wisdom you remained u
nwavering\;* and burning like lamps with the fervour of the Spirit\,* you
have illumined the hearts of the faithful with grace.* Therefore\, every a
ge and generation celebrates your holy memory hymning the Lord.\n\nFrom th
e morning watch until night* let Israel trust in the Lord.\n\nShining fort
h like stars of great brilliance\,* the divinely wise Eulampius and the mo
st honoured Eulampia\, the godly pair\,* illumine creation with the radian
ce of their struggles and the splendours of their miracles.* And celebrati
ng today their most sacred memory\,* with gladness we bow down before the
shrine of their relics.\n\nTone 2\, Podoben\, “When from the Tree...”\
n\nFor with the Lord there is mercy\, and with Him there is plentiful rede
mption\;* and He shall redeem Israel from all its iniquities.\n\nGiving yo
ur flesh over to wounds* and enduring most bitter torments and violent dea
th\, О all-praised martyrs\,* you put the tyrants to shame and truly abol
ished the worship of idols\,* preaching Christ\, the one God and Master\,*
before Whom ye stand crowned\, О glorious ones\,* together with the ange
lic hosts.\n\nPraise the Lord\, all the nations\;* proclaim His glory\, al
l you people.\n\nGiving your flesh over to wounds* and enduring most bitte
 r torments and violent death\, О all-praised martyrs\,* you put the tyran
ts to shame and truly abolished the worship of idols\,* preaching Christ\,
the one God and Master\,* before Whom ye stand crowned\, О glorious ones
\,* together with the angelic hosts.\n\nStrong is the love of the Lord for
us\;* eternally will His truth endure.\n\nYou revealed yourselves to be d
ivine preachers of the Word who appeared on earth\,* and taught piety to a
ll\, setting forth the orthodox faith in divine words\,* whereby you drove
heresy far from the Church of Christ.* Therefore\, you ever dwell in the
habitations of God\, О blessed ones\,* as sacred ministers of the Trinity
 \,* leading into it all mankind.\n\nTone 4\, Glory… \n\nUniting your ide
ntical names to your fraternal love\,* and joining purity to dispassion\,
you preserved your moral force unimpaired\;* for where God is desired\, th
e whole world is as spurned.* What a wonder! The serpent is slain!* He who
dwells beneath the earth\, who railed unrighteously against heaven\,* has
been brought down through the suffering of the brother and sister\, the w
ise Eulampius and Eulampia.* Unto them let us cry out with spiritual hymns
:* O you who finished well the race for Christ\,* ask peace for the world
and great mercy for our souls.\n\nTone 2\, Now…\n\nO Virgin\, the shadow
of the Law passed away* with the realization of grace.* For as the bush h
ad burned without being consumed\,* so you gave birth while a virgin* and
you remained a virgin.* Instead of the pillar of fire there rose the Sun o
f Justice.* Instead of Moses\, Christ God came forth\,* the Saviour of our
souls.\n\nProkeimenon\, Tone 7\n\nO God\, You are my defender* and Your m
ercy goes before me.\n\nverse: Deliver me from my enemies\, O God\; save m
e from those who rise up against me.\n\nAposticha\n\nTone 2\n\nO you saint
s great is the glory\,* that you have gained through your faith.* For not
only by your sufferings were you victorious over the enemy\;* but even aft
er death\, as physicians of body and soul\,* you drive out evil spirits an
d bring healing to the infirm.* Intercede before the Lord\,* that mercy be
granted to our souls.\n\nBlessed are they whom You have chosen* and taken
  to Yourself\, О Lord\n\nAs a flower withers and a dream passes away\,* s
o does the flesh of each man dissipate upon death.* But at the sound of th
e trumpet* all the dead as if in an earthquake shall rise up again to meet
You\, O Christ our God.* Grant then\, O Master\, to all Your servants* wh
om You have taken from us\,* to eternally dwell in the tabernacles of Your
saints.\n\nTheir souls shall dwell* amid good things.\n\nWoe is me! How g
reat a struggle does the soul endure at its parting from the body.* Woe is
me! How many tears does it shed\,* but there is no one to take pity.* Tur
ning its eyes to the angels\, it supplicates in vain\;* stretching out its
hands to men\, it finds none to help.* Therefore\, my beloved brethren\,*
reflecting upon the shortness of our life\,* let us ask Christ to grant r
est to the departed* and to our souls great mercy.\n\nTone 4\, Glory… \n
\nIllumined with the light of the Trinity\,* the brother and sister set at
nought the savagery of the tormenters.* Therefore\, trampling down the fl
ame\, they joined chorus\, chanting:* “Behold now\, what is so good or s
o joyous as for brethren to dwell together in unity?”* And looking to di
vine glory\, they were counted worthy of the glory of heaven\,* ever entre
ating Christ God in our behalf\,* that our souls may be saved.\n\nNow…\n
\nO inextinguishable lamp\, and throne of righteousness* most pure Soverei
gn Lady:* pray that our souls be saved.\n\nTroparia\n\nTone 4\n\nYour holy
martyrs Eulampius and Eulampia\, O Lord\,* through their sufferings have
received their incorruptible crowns from You\, our God.* For having your s
trength\, they laid low their adversaries\,* and shattered the powerless b
oldness of demons.* Through their intercessions\, save our souls!\n\nGlory
… Now…\n\nO Mother of God\, the mystery hidden from all eternity* and
unknown even to the angels\,* was revealed through you to those on earth:*
God took on our human nature* and united it to His divine nature in a per
fect but unconfused union.* Then\, He willingly accepted the cross for our
sake* and thereby raised again the first created\,* and saved our souls f
rom death.\n\nAT DIVINE LITURGY ON SATURDAY MORNING\n\nTroparia and Kontak
ia\n\nTroparion\, Tone 4: Your holy martyrs Eulampius and Eulampia\, O Lor

spelling deep darkness* and praying unceasingly to Christ our God for all
of us.\n\nProkeimenon\, Tone 4\n\nTo the saints who are in His land\, the
