SUMMARY:Monday\, June 15\, 2026\; The Holy Prophet Amos\; Venerable Jerome\
 , Presbyter of Stridonium.
DESCRIPTION:AT VESPERS ON SUNDAY EVENING\n\nKathisma Reading\n\nThere are n
o appointed psalms to be chanted tonight.\n\nAt Psalm 140\n\nTone 2\n\nIf
You mark iniquities\, Lord\, who can stand?* But with You forgiveness is t
hat You may be revered.\n\nО supremely good Father\, Son and Word of the
Father\, and Holy Spirit\, uncreated Essence\,* who are possessed of a wel
lspring of tender compassion and pour forth depths of mercy:* accept our s
upplication and prayer\,* granting forgiveness to all amid their transgres
sions\,* in that You are compassionate and the Lover of mankind.\n\nI have
waited for You as You have commanded\; my soul patiently relies on Your p
romise\,* for it has trusted in the Lord.\n\nAs You are God\, You are by n
 ature wholly compassionate\, merciful\, and good\;* therefore\, we beseech
You\, О Christ our Saviour\,* and falling down before You\, we cry\, eve
r calling out to You:* Grant to Your servants remission of their many tran
sgressions* and forgiveness of every thing wherein they have committed off
enses\,* in that You are the compassionate God and the Lover of mankind.\n
\nFrom the morning watch until night* let Israel trust in the Lord.\n\nDes
iring to save all for whose sake You had become a man\, О Saviour\,* as G
od You manifested Yourself as a man.* Save us who bow down before Your com
mandments\,* for You did not come to save the righteous\,* but through the
grace of divine baptism* to loose us who are bound by many sins in the ch
ains of our transgressions\, О Lover of mankind\,* in that You are compas
sionate and the Lover of mankind.\n\nTone 2\, Podoben: “When from the Tr
ee”\n\nFor with the Lord there is mercy\, and with Him there is plentifu
l redemption\;* and He shall redeem Israel from all its iniquities.\n\nThe
spiritual splendour of your mind\, * O most wondrous prophet\, * has disc
losed a purity * which shines clearly like a mirror\, * illumining the wor
ld with the brilliant radiance * of divine knowledge. * And prefiguring im
ages of the divine mysteries\, * it causes grace to be bestowed * upon all
mankind.\n\nPraise the Lord\, all the nations\;* proclaim His glory\, all
you people.\n\nAs the mouth of God\, * following righteous teachings and
divine judgments\, * you manifestly denounced the doers of iniquity\, * co
ndemning them with an inescapable sentence\, * O most noetically rich prop
het. * Wherefore\, seeing the fulfillment of your most wise words\, O bles
sed one\, * we praise you with hymns\, as is meet.\n\nStrong is the love o
f the Lord for us\;* eternally will His truth endure.\n\nStanding before t
he throne of the Master * filled with light\, and ineffable and divine glo
ry\, * and beholding the good things of heaven\, * O divinely eloquent Amo
s\, * be you mindful of all who honour you with faith\, * asking that salv
ation of soul and forgiveness of sins * be granted unto them all\, * O you
  who are acceptable to God.\n\nTone 2\, Glory… Now…\n\nWith thrice-hol
 y voices\, О most pure one\,* the multitude of your Son’s angels hymn y
ou\,* who are ever His fiery throne\, animate palace\, and divine bridge l
eading to Him from the earth.* And together with the Archangel Gabriel the
y cry out to you:* Rejoice\, О joyous one\, for you have given birth to t
he Source of joy!\n\nProkeimenon\, Tone 8\n\nAnd now bless the Lord\,* all
you servants of the Lord.\n\nverse: Who stand in the temple of the Lord\,
in the courtyards of the house of our God.\n\nAposticha\n\nTone 2\n\nLike
the prodigal son I have sinned against You\, О Saviour.* Accept me who a
 m penitent\, О Father.* Have mercy on me\, О God!\n\nI have lifted up my
eyes to You enthroned in heaven. Behold\, as the eyes of servants are on
the hands of their masters\, as the eyes of a maid are on the hands of her
mistress\, so are our eyes on the Lord our God until He has mercy on us.\
n\nWith the cry of the publican I cry out to You\, О Christ my Saviour:*
Cleanse me as You did him\,* and have mercy on me\, О God!\n\nHave mercy
on us\, O Lord\, have mercy on us\; for we have been filled with shame\; o
ur soul is all too full of the mockery of the rich\, of the contempt of th
e proud.\n\nHaving hated the pleasures of the earth\,* the passion-bearers
were granted the good things of heaven* and became fellow citizens with t
he angels.* By their supplications\, О Lord\, have mercy and save us.\n\n
 Tone 2\, Glory… Now…\n\nRejoice\, O Theotokos Mary\,* indestructible a
nd surpassingly holy temple\;* as the prophet cries out:* Holy is your tem
ple\, wondrous in righteousness!\n\nTroparion\, Tone 2\n\nAs we celebrate
the memory of Your prophet\, Amos\,* O Lord\, we beseech You through him:
“Save our souls!”\n\nGlory… Now…\n\nO Mother of God\, you are a fo
untain of mercy\;* count us worthy of your compassion\;* look upon a peopl
e who have sinned\;* manifest your power as you always do.* Because of our
trust in you\, we cry out to you* as once did Gabriel\, the commander of
the angels.\n\nAT DIVINE LITURGY ON MONDAY MORNING\n\nTroparia and Kontaki
a\n\nTroparion\, Tone 2: As we celebrate the memory of Your prophet\, Amos

d ever. Amen.\n\nKontakion\, Tone 4: Enlightened by the spirit* your pure
heart\, having seen the distant in the present* became a vessel of brillia
